Reaching Little Earth with the Gospel

About Little earth

Little Earth is a unique 9.4-acre, 212-unit HUD-subsidized housing community located in the heart of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Established in 1973, it is home to nearly 1,000 residents, about half of whom are children and young adults under 21. As the only American Indian preference project-based Section 8 rental community in the U.S., Little Earth has long been a hub of support, advocacy, and services for the American Indian community in South Minneapolis (Source: Little Earth of United Tribes website).

Our Ministry

Maajiigin Ministries takes part in the programming offered at Little Earth through the Boys & Girls Club, while also leading outreach efforts within the community:

  • Little Earth Boys & Girls Club: Volunteers work with kids of all ages.
    Weekdays, 3-7pm.
  • Little Earth Sunday School: Sunday School programming lead by Maajiigin staff and volunteers. Sundays 3-5pm.
  • Little Earth Fellowship: A time for Little Earth residents to gather, share a meal, sing gospel songs, and study God's word. Sundays 5-7pm.
